En 2024, trois crédits bancaires sur quatre mis en place dans l'UEMOA duraient moins de deux ans, alors que les banques détenaient plus de quatre fois les réserves qui leur sont demandées. La ressource est là. C'est sa durée qui manque, et nous l'avons documenté.Eight states share the CFA franc in the west, six in the centre, and Cabo Verde pegs its escudo to the euro. In 2024, three out of four bank loans extended in the WAEMU zone ran for less than two years, while banks held more than four times the reserves required of them. The money is there.
